Documenting the attentive life.
Savourism is an independent editorial project devoted to aesthetic living, published in Chinese. Inspired by coffee, we use considered writing and photography to return beauty from art and special occasions to ordinary life, so that its centre of gravity rests not on owning beautiful things, but on an attitude of engagement, participation and feeling. We are trying to stop longing for life, and to live within what we long for.
We seek out the local baristas, artists and makers who truly practise aesthetic living, observing their work and their spaces, reflecting on their choices and what they hold to. Considered, unhurried work of this kind is still scarce in Chinese. Savourism means to fill that gap.
The project is the work of independent writers and photographers based in Australia, in collaboration with design teams in Hong Kong and Seoul.
Flavourful life observed.
